Coal Production in India
The all India coal production in the year 2021-2022 was 778.19 Million Tonne (MT) in comparison to 716.08 MT in the year 2020-2021 with a growth of about 8.67%. India’s overall coal Production has seen a quantum jump to 893.08 MT in FY 2022-23 as compared to 728.72 MT in FY 2018-2019 with a growth of about 22.6%.

The coal production in the country increased to 778.19 MT in 2021-22 from 716.08 MT in 2020-21. This was a significant growth of 8.5% in coal production in 2021-22.
The total coal production marginally declined by 2.03% from 730.874 Million Tonnes (MT) in 2019-20 to 716.012 MT during the year 2020-21. Owing to Covid-19 pandemic, the subdued demand in power and non-power sectors had adversely affected coal dispatch from the coal companies.
